I don’t normally make any sort of New Year’s Resolution. It has just never been something that I have done. I’m not sure why exactly. 2009 was a year of new beginnings. I plan to make 2010 a year that builds upon what I’ve done and make it even better than 2009. So here are my 5 goals for the year ahead:
Finish all Current Mashups/Edits
There are a few mashups and edits that I started, but never finished. My goal is to finish every unfinished mashup/edit that is just sitting on my computer. Some of them are not tracks that I would usually play or listen to, so it should be a treat to mix with once I finish them.
Create at least 4 Episodes for theDJPodcast.com
I planned to do a lot more with theDJPodcast in 2009. Unfortunately, it was on the bottom of the priority list when school and life got hectic. The site will never grow if I don’t put time into working on it. Completing 4 episodes is a goal that I plan to meet early in the year and will hopefully create at least 8 episodes by the end of the year.
Complete a guestmix
It would be super-awesome to have one of my mixes played on another DJs radio show or podcast. This is something that I have not pursued before, but plan to work towards this year.
Listen to more online radio
It’s ridiculous how many great online radio stations there are. Listening to more online radio, and exploring more genres of music, will not only allow me to broaden my music horizon, but also let me interact with other fans of EDM who are listening as well.
Play a party…even just for friends
If I ever want to play in front of a crowd, I’m going to have to have some experience playing for other people. I need to take the initiative on this one. It’s not going to be handed to me on a silver platter.
